THE CONCEPT:

New Threshold Theatre tried out a very new and special idea!.. Touring a youth show around Arkansas that was completely actor devised and orientated.. AND it was holiday themed!

A small team of actors was assembled alongside a director and stage manager. Starting two weeks before their first show opened the team was given a list of shows and stories that they included in short comedy sketches. 

They began to write. Each story was from 10 to 15 minutes long. The show was be written in such a way so that a story could be cut from the list depending on the time allotted at each location. They could have prepared one 15 minute show for a library or four 10 minute shows for a restaurant or one 60 minute show for a business holiday event, the possibilities were endless!  
The shows were very actor driven, meaning everything seen or heard came directly from an actor; every sound effect, lighting cue, set piece, costume change was directly created by actors LIVE on stage. 

The team wrote, rehearsed, re-wrote, and rehearsed until they had perfected the shows to tour NWA!

  • An Original Christmas Story titled "A Quentin Tarantino Christmas"
